Five countries that shaped the history of heavy metal

Heavy metal is a type of music that has been around for more than half a century, but there are some countries that have a long tradition of this style. In the list prepared by the editor Mateus Ribeiro, five countries are presented with big names and bands that have influenced and contributed to the development of heavy metal.

Germany is home to two of the biggest bands like The Scorpions and Get It who have been active for decades and continue to dominate the genre. America’s “Big Four” gave the world of thrash metal, consisting of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. In England, the rise of heavy metal, iconic bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath emerged, as well as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, two giants of the genre. Finally, Sweden has been the most productive country when it comes to metals since the 80s. Bands like Europa, Entombed, Out, In The Gates, Dark Tranquility, In Flame, Solwork, Evergrey, Arch Enemy, Sanctus, Candlemass, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, Therion and Katatonia have credited the great country of Sweden for its heavy music.

In summary, these are five countries with a long tradition in heavy metal, each of which has contributed in a unique way to the development of the genre over the decades.
