Fashion month wrapped up on Tuesday with Paris Fashion Week. While many fashion houses played it safe in their FW23/24 shows and bet on classic and archival pieces, it found its greatest expression on the streets of creativity. Here there was not even a trace of sobriety, and much more color than on the catwalks. From FashionUnited we offer you a selection of five street trends that will keep you stylish until next winter.
1. Techno-futurism
Metallic tones, especially silver, dominated the streets and to some extent the catwalks.
The Paco Rabanne show was one of the most anticipated of Paris Fashion Week, and the return of Peter Cardin, after the death of the founder. Everything indicates that this road trend has partially gained ground as a tribute to the designers of the “space age”.
In the face, silver leather, sequins, shiny accessories or metallic dresses triumphed, Rabanne’s signature, metallic figure. The technological progress of the day, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, is found here (or rather) in the newly awakened love of techno-futuristic aesthetics.
2. A cheerful leather look trench coat
Red Barbie has gradually replaced the pink to heal the color. Both were very popular in the streets in the form of leather belts, or other leather.
It is also interesting that the silhouette is often closed in these. Trench coats are often presented as an easy-to-wear coat that effortlessly cools and accentuates the look of the back layers. In this case, however, the trench coat stands in itself as part of the prayer.
3 part pepla
The obstacle that has to “come down” from the catwalks to the street is the appearance of many haircuts, in which, by using numerous haircuts, a very tight hairstyle is created, usually in combination with a lot of hair gel or spray. The hair seems to be almost damp.
Perfect for bad hair days, it adds a touch of futuristic outfits, somewhat similar to cyborgs.
4. Electric blue
After black and white, blue was the color of choice on the streets, according to American Vogue street hunter. But not just any. This time the blue is electric blue, a blue that looks monochromatic on the streets and has also been seen as eyeliner on the catwalks.
Pinterest, on the platform of London Fashion Week, has seen a +75 percent increase in recent weeks.
5. Joyful and percussive glasses
Sunglasses always play an important role in street style, because they are suitable for concealing and are used by influences to avoid blinking in pictures. But this season is really off.
From Copenhagen to London to Paris, sunglasses of all colors and shades were seen. Now, its shapes are inspired by the techno 90s look, which is more like sports sunglasses than the men’s models of the 2000s, which until recently had an oversized look.
Black and white metallic frames were also a popular bet among street professionals, but with yellow or pink lenses, they seem a little more world-friendly.
