Police say a Miami man faces multiple charges after he videotaped his 23-year-old roommate getting dressed after getting out of the shower. Mercedes Adrian Ruiz, 60, was arrested on Friday on charges of video voyeurism, assault and molesting a victim.
According to her arrest report, the victim saw Ruiz looking out her bedroom window on Friday night and recorded him with her cell phone after she got out of the shower. The woman then went to her bedroom with her 3-year-old daughter to get dressed.
The victim told police that Ruiz ran to the front of the apartment after seeing her and spoke to her about the incident via text message, but denied that he was recording her.

According to the report, Ruiz entered the victim’s locked room without her permission and, Even though he wasn’t wearing his pants, he grabbed her by both arms, took her cell phone and told her, “Don’t call the police.”
Police said the victim was able to retrieve her phone and pushed Ruiz out of her bedroom, then re-opened the door and called 911.

Authorities said that when officers arrived at the home, Ruiz claimed that he had accidentally locked himself out of his apartment and that the victim was playing loud music and did not hear a knock on the front door.
Officers claimed that after a few minutes, Ruiz agreed to allow a police officer to search his phone Checking the recently deleted folder in the Photos tab showed a video of the victim in her bedroom removing her towel, revealing her bare body.
Police said the video also shows Ruiz running after seeing her. As of now, the investigation is still going on and its final verdict is expected in the coming days.
A man has been arrested for trying to molest a girl in a California elementary school bathroom
In other incidents, a sex offender was arrested last September after entering a Southern California elementary school bathroom and attempting to assault a girl, police say. For now, Logan Nighswonger, 32, of Riverside, is being held without bail.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon around 12:30 pm. Officers received a report that a man had scaled a fence and entered the girls’ bathroom at McAuliffe Elementary School.
At that point, a campus supervisor saw the Nightswongger leave the bathroom and heard a girl crying inside. The campus supervisor chased the Nightswanger as he jumped several fences before getting into a car and driving away.

The premises supervisor was able to provide a detailed description of the Nightswonger’s car, and as a result, Officers were able to trace the car to a business in Orange County, where Nighswonger was pulled over.according to a press release.
The Nightswanger Was Booked Into The Robert Presley Detention Center For attempting to have sex with a girl under ten years of age and for being a registered sex offender on school grounds.
“We are grateful to our law enforcement partners for the swift action they took to prevent and end this threat to our society. Children should never have to experience a situation like this, and I am deeply saddened that this incident happened,” said Alvard Unified School District Superintendent Alan Muscerino.
As of now, Riverside officials are investigating the entire incident before making a final ruling.
