The Mexico City Justice Prosecutor’s Office reported the capture of two former public servants of the Miguel Ángel Mancera administration, who were charged with Spying on politicians, athletes and journalists.
Gustavo “N” and Arturo “N” were identified as former high-level civil servants in the capital.
According to the arrest warrant against him, he will be charged with criminal association, dishonorable exercise of functions and breach of private communication.
Gustavo “N” served as general coordinator of policies, plan administration and organization of the then Attorney General’s Office; Arturo “N” was the Deputy Director of Government Sector.
The investigation began with a journalistic investigation that revealed the existence of a “spy house” in the Centro neighborhood.
Ulysses Lara, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, said the detainees allegedly participated in wiretapping, wiretapping and phone messages following politicians, athletes and journalists.
There are already six detainees for these incidents.
