Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard will not return to tennis at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club after being stripped of ranking points from the tournament.
Bouchard hasn’t played before the WTA Tour since shoulder surgery last spring after a renaissance, which gave potential hope that the Canadian will be back to his best.
But on the given reason, it came down to having a protected ranking and these can only be used on certain occasions, so for Bouchard, it makes no sense to take that position and use the opportunity without ranking points. Do it.
