Former GOP Missouri Gov. blew up for ‘Rino Hunting’ Senate campaign ad

Former Missouri Gov. and GOP Senate candidate Eric Greitens released a campaign ad Monday morning suggesting Greitens and tactical gear-clad supporters burst into a house and “hunt” political opponents.

“I’m Eric Greitens, Navy Seal,” said the gun candidate in the gun in the 38-second ad posted on Twitter . “And today we are going to hunt RINO.”

The distorted pun refers to RINOs, an acronym for “Republicans in Name Only,” which Greitens accused in his tweet of “surrendering to Joe Biden and the radical left.”

The ad then shows Greitens, along with several people wearing camouflage, on the porch of a suburban house carrying guns.

The ad concludes with Greitens urging viewers to “join the MAGA team” and “get a RINO hunting permit,” which “does not expire until we save our country.”

Many people have criticized the disturbing implication of the advertisement and threatening images.

Greitens has been accused of actual violence in recent years. In 2018, a Missouri hairdresser testified that he tied her up during a relationship with the then governor, took off her clothes without her permission, and forced her to have oral sex. He resigned as governor amid allegations of sexual assault, along with accusations of violating the campaign funding law.

And Greitens’ ex -wife, Sheena Greitens, said he physically abused both her and their children.

“Before our divorce, during an argument at the end of April 2018, Eric knocked me down and confiscated my cellphone, wallet and keys so I was unable to call help or withdrawing myself and our children from our home, “She wrote a court case earlier this year. She also said he hit their 3-year-old face and dragged him to his hair.

Greitens denied the allegations of abuse.
