Health agents, health promoters and obstetricians would go door-to-door in a certain neighborhood to detect diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and various types of cancer and pregnancy, thus registering them in the health system.
In this context, last Friday, Health Minister Ricardo Cardozo held a meeting with the coordinators of the various health sectors and part of his cabinet, with whom he discussed the issue.
Minister Ricardo Cardozo said, “The idea is to mobilize all primary care resources from the ministry and the different hospitals, and go to the neighborhoods of the capital and the different departments of the province to look for vulnerable people.” , “We plan to start the second week of February and we are going to do it in the neighborhood of the capital, which is Esperanza, and also we will be in Saladas, Empedrado, Esquina, Paso de los Libres and Verasoro,” he said. Told.
“Tasks will be done to trace chronic non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, various cancers and pregnant women. These people will be traced and the information will be loaded into a system that will guide them to which office, which line of care. will be used for control and related studies and in turn, there will be a call center that will control that these tasks are carried out,” he explained.
The minister remarked that “It is very important because many people do not know that they are at risk. So the idea is to go directly to the homes of these patients so that they can be included in the health system.”
In this sense, Cardozo exemplified the importance of work. He added: “In 2022, around 100 health promoters in the capital visited 79,000 people and from there we traced many at-risk patients who were treated, studied and followed up clinically. We are talking about cancer of diabetics. And high blood pressure”.
