Fox Sports will make Easter Sunday the NASCAR standings

Charlotte, NC – Garbage will return to the NASCAR program next year and maybe Fox Sports will have its own way again on Easter Sunday.

NASCAR has hosted an average of 4,007,000 spectators since Sunday 2016 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

For the first time since the 1949 season of NASCAR, the trophy has been deliberately set up at Easter. It was re-programmed 10 times ago in connection with the weather, most recently in 1989.

It was Fox who asked NASCAR to use the traditional holiday festival outside the weekend. Based on Sunday night numbers, Fox wants Easter in his schedule talks.

“We are thrilled,” Bill Vanger, Fox Sports’s vice president and head of programming and programming, told the Associated Press on Wednesday. “We are talking to NASCAR about ’23 plans and it is clear that this is part of the mix.”

Although two delayed rains. Bristol spectators increased by 28% from last year’s competition, which was delayed by rain but will take place on Monday afternoon. Richmond also increased by 20% from last year’s competition.

The competition was the largest in February, with a population of 18 to 49 from Daytona 500.

“I like to compete for garbage, I think it’s a different format and when it comes to garbage, the number increases,” said Vanger. “And the young shows at Easter, with garbage, we love garbage.”

Bristol Motor Speedway President Jerry Caldwell He said the 2023 spring race will be a waste competition for the third year in a row but the date has not been set.

Wanger did not need to consult the calendar to discuss whether NASCAR will return to Fox next Easter. He knows the festival will take place on April 9, 2023, which is known as “Master Sunday” by television producers.

NASCAR learned during the first year of the event that the event should take place at night due to visibility problems caused by red Tennessee clay. Covering Bristol’s 0.533 mile concrete bulb. Sunday’s competition starts at 7pm and the same process is expected next year.

“Masters finished seven times, and that’s when we started covering the competition,” said Wenger. Nascar finished second in the weekend as the sporting event. Behind the first round of the NBA Draft.

TV ratings were strong in the first eight races of the season, with NASCAR’s new successor Jane racing car first. The car was launched during a collision with the Fox Exhibition at the Los Angeles College in February, and featured a “half-hour” at the beginning of the season at an ice cube concert.

The clash was sold out, following the season’s opening day and 500, the first in three years without rain. Vanger believes that the speed of the network started at that time and that he completed the first nine races of the season.

He commended the partnership between Television Partners, Track Promotors and NASCAR, led by President Steve Falls and Ben Kennedy Senior Vice President of Racing Development and Strategy. Kennedy, 30, is the grandson of the founder of NASCAR and has been credited with some of the latest developments in NASCAR.

Vanger said he set the tone for NASCAR’s successful start to the season in 2020, when it was one of the first professional sports leagues to continue the race. NASCAR is preparing for the first two months after the national shutdown and is the first league to finish the entire season.

“NASCAR made some good decisions during the epidemic,” says Wenger. “It was one of the biggest sports and I think it helped to find new spectators.”

Wanger said there could be an opportunity for other tracks to be prepared for Easter, according to the calendar. For example, when Easter is celebrated in March, it may be too cold for Bristol to prepare for the race in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee.

Promoting the event was key and Fox was determined to sell Bristol in the trash with the NASCAR 38 competition program.

“What we saw at Fox is that if you put on a lot of sports on a holiday, you can get some numbers.
