Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo is at it again just ask when he wondered aloud on Monday if the Chinese government deliberately released COVID-19 to get Donald Trump out of the White House.
Bartiromo’s strange theory, which suggests that China released a deadly coronavirus within its own borders in an effort to install Joe Biden as US president, has been somewhat endorsed by the GOP lawmaker. which led the House investigation into the origin of the virus.
While interviewing Rep. Brad Weinstrup (R-OH) on Monday’s broadcast of Mornings with MaryThe Ohio congressman first thanked the conspiracy-peddling Fox star for his “extraordinary service to our country” before jumping on the Wuhan lab leak theory, which is gaining traction in the science and intelligence communities.
Asked why there was “no discussion with Joe Biden and President Xi” on the origins of COVID-19 at the recent US-China summit, Weinstrup then complained that Democrats showed “no interest” in investigating the possibility that the virus was engineered in a Wuhan lab and escaped.
Bartiromo, on the other hand, took the opportunity to suggest that the global pandemic is all part of an insidious plot to destroy Trump’s presidency.
“So, what do you think is going on here?” Bartiromo exclaimed. “It was engineered, it came out of a lab in Wuhan, and China tried to cover it up? That doesn’t tell me anything about whether it was intentional or not. I mean, was there any chance that China intentionally released this virus in America? Destroy the country, get Donald Trump out, get your man in there, Joe Biden, and then cover it up?!”
Saying that China is “definitely not trying to protect America,” Weinstrup added that “whether it’s intentional or accidental, they seem to know it.” He went on to suggest that Xi had deliberately misled Trump on the dangers of the virus.
“And I could be wrong about this: President XI told Donald Trump that everything was okay,” he continued. “And Donald Trump is repeating what President XI said. Now the Democrats are calling President Trump a liar, but it looks like President Trump is just repeating what President XI said. Obviously, it’s more dangerous.”
The congressman and Fox host explained that Democrats, the Biden administration, and former White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci hid evidence of a lab leak because China paid them.
“There is overwhelming evidence that this administration and the Democrat Party are putting America at risk. Add that to the long list, including wide open borders,” Bartiromo concluded in the segment.
It’s not the first time Bartiromo, whose on-air embrace of Trump’s 2020 election ultimately cost Fox $787.5 million, has peddled wild conspiracy theories about COVID-19.
Before last year’s midterm elections, he repeatedly warned that the White House and Democrats could introduce a “midterm variant” of the virus to change voting rules that would put Republicans in a disadvantage.
“If it doesn’t work for them, there’s always the option of the midterms,” he said after Roe’s draft leaked to the Supreme Court, adding: “Maybe that would stop us all from voting and force us to do the mail in.”
