Fraud and Irregularities: Medical students ask to remit virtual ENAM due to Leak test

The National Medical Exam (ENAM) took place this last Sunday, March 19, almost despite the fact that, weeks ago, hundreds of students said the courses, requested the modality to turn to the face. Now, the internals have announced that there is a leak from the Tests and also possible plagiarism in the test representing 70% of the final score of the opting place in Serums.

The Peruvian Federation of Human Medicine Students (FEPEMH) demanded the abolition of the current assessment, because no measure had been announced by the Peruvian Association of Medical Schools (Aspefam). Wendy Yánac, a union representative, mentioned that she had already noticed this type of situation; But this is not taking into account the said institution.

“This year, the exam was carried out in an arbitrary way. In the first place, this change from face to face to virtual was made knowing that Peru is not the nation with these conditions and inequalities. This decision was not even supported and they did not know that we were responsible for the case,” Yánac said to La República .

Peruvia also went to the proposal to achieve face-to-face ENAM, but to no avail. The result: irregularities in one of the tests that defines the future of a medical student.

Irregularities in ENAM

Days before the test, students were warned that unscrupulous people had been offered help through ENAM. Many of them said that no one would know the virtual mode. “Since we have been warned of so many conditions, we have sent official letters face to face, but nothing has changed,” said a representative of FEPEMH.

To this, Aspefam responded in the said instrument, alleging that the health and safety of all participants must be preserved. Also, as everyone approaches the tests differently, the issue raised by the students is that not everyone has the same ability.

“In this case, what would happen… The coordinator would be present at your home and answer your question properly. That’s why we guarantee 14 steps and maybe more,” is heard in one. about audio

On the day of the assessment (from 8:00 am to 11:00 am), the applicants learned that the test had already been postponed after 9:00 am “At 9:20 am I already took the exam pictures. My colleagues had taken each of their exam pictures. They had already shared in the test,” he said. .

Another situation that generated vigilance was the publication of the event. “The first day they have already published the order. It is worth mentioning that there are thirty people in the top 10 positions,” he asserted. To date, no health authority has come close to meeting the students’ request: destroy ENAM in the face of fraud.

Dr. Verushka De Los Santos, president of the National Committee of Young Doctors of the Medical College of Peru, said that they had asked for their presence, but this was all up to Aspefam. “We are not the relevant instance. Based on all the evidence collected, due measure of these actions should be taken,” he said.

In the case of the Ministry of Health, the students tried to ask for support; but they received no answer. For its part, the Association of Peruvian Medical Schools acknowledged the leak of its evidence, but only after the process was completed. Among these lines, they decided that 12 applicants had violated security rules and launched an investigation against them.

FEPEMH requires the cancellation of the exam if there is evidence of fraud and the students take the exam again, but in person. “We undergo many irregularities and it is a test that defines the place in Serums. It cannot be left like this,” he concluded.

Few people try ENAM in Peru.

In a research published by Mendoza-Chuctaya and others in the journal Acta Médica Peruana, it was revealed that 3 out of 10 medical students lacked ENAM. In this sense, in seven universities, more than 50% of their graduates did not pass. However, this assessment has not yet met the requirement and is only worth 70% of the grade to be judged for a place at Serums.
