Cincinnati ( Associated Press) — Either the Raiders or the Bengals will win a playoff game on Saturday, and that would be news in itself. Post-season success has been elusive for both teams for a generation.
The Raiders’ most recent postseason win was 19 years ago, a conference championship before losing to Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl. Since then, he has managed only one playoff appearance, one and one wild-card game after the 2016 season.
Cincinnati is in the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, but has not dropped out of the opening round since the 1990 season.
ORCHARD PARK, NY ( Associated Press) — Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes has been primed for both freezing temperatures and the Patriots in preparation to host his division rivals in a wild-card playoff game on Saturday night.

The teams split the season series, with Buffalo taking the AFC East title for the second time in a row.
NEW YORK ( Associated Press) — Five players, including dynamic pass catchers Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams, are unanimous choices for the Associated Press 2021 NFL All-Pro team.
Colts Jonathan Taylor, Steelers edge rusher TJ Watts, and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, joining Rams Kupp and Packers Adams in Friday, received votes from all 50 members of a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the league. Huh.
Donald is a perennial pick, making the team for the seventh time in his eight pro seasons, and Watts is on it for the third time. Adams makes it a second time, and the other two are newcomers.
Atlantic Coast Conference commissioner Jim Phillips says now is not the time to extend the college football playoffs.
Phillips told reporters on a conference call Friday that with the NCAA beginning the transition to Division I, CFP expansion should not be a priority. He also cited the continuing need for federal law regarding name, image and likeness compensation for athletes.
Extension talks between conference commissioners and Notre Dame’s athletic director stalled last weekend. Expectations of a new format to be implemented by 2024 are looming, but have not been declared dead.

It takes time to be a winner, says Lady Walls coach Kelly Harper, noting: “You don’t just push a button and win the game.”
Boulder, Colo. ( Associated Press) — The No. 2 Stanford women’s team beat No. 22 Colorado 60-52 on Friday night to beat the last remaining undefeated team in Division I basketball to beat season-high 22 turnovers.
It was a fairly undefeated run for Colorado, who was controlling the pace before Stanford’s 12-4 surge in the fourth quarter went a long way to break the streak. This was only the second time in the history of the event that the Buffaloes started 13–0.
“I’m not one for moral victories. I’m always looking for the things we did well, and there will be many more things that we did well,” said Colorado coach JR Payne. “There will also be a lot of things that we need to learn and grow.”

PIERRE, SD ( Associated Press) — A South Dakota legislative committee has approved a bill championed by Republican Gov. Christie Noem to ban transgender women and girls from participating in school sports leagues that match their gender identity.
The bill received approval on Friday in the Republican-dominated Senate State Affairs Committee, clearing a legislative hurdle that has been a significant obstacle to similar South Dakota bills in the past.
Every Republican on the committee approved the bill, despite warnings from opponents that it alienates and threatens transgender students. Opponents also say it exposes schools to legal action for a political reason that has not been an issue in South Dakota.
