Authorities accuse the owners of reckless display.
In a scene that seemed straight out of an action movie, ten luxury cars were detained on Abraham Lincoln Avenue at the corner of Rafael Augusto Sánchez in the National District after being caught driving recklessly at night.
This unusual action was carried out in response to complaints from citizens warning of traffic delays on the aforementioned road due to risky maneuvers by motorists. These violators will now face legal consequences if they violate Law 63-17, which regulates mobility, land transportation, transit and road safety in the Dominican Republic.
Among the luxury vehicles seized by preventative police officers are authentic automotive jewels: a gray Ferrari SF90 SPIDER with license plate Z007913, a purple Lamborghini Huracan with license plate Z007154, a white Porsche 911 with license plate PP056577, a red Ferrari F8 Tributo with license plate Z007130, another white Lamborghini Huracan without visible license plate, a white Nissan GTR with license plate Z005410 and a yellow Lamborghini Huracan with license plate Z006538.
The list of high-value vehicles continues with a black Chevrolet Corvette with license plate A596512, a blue Toyota Supra with license plate PP163358 and another white Porsche 911 with license plate Z006452.
These impressive cars were transferred to the Retained Vehicles Depot of the Directorate of Traffic and Land Transport Security (DIGESETT), located on Avenida Independencia, almost on the corner of Máximo Gómez.
The drivers of these high-end vehicles will in turn be referred to the traffic prosecutor’s office to face the legal consequences of their reckless display on public roads. This incident is a reminder that road safety and compliance with traffic rules are essential to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads of the Dominican Republic.
