Noida. Hundreds of people from UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh have been coming to the hospital every day for the past few days following allegations of viral fever. Most patients suffer from dengue, viral fever scrub typhus and leptospirosis. So far, hundreds of patients have died and thousands are hospitalized in these three states.
In UP, the first case of death of children due to mysterious fever occurred in Firozabad, but after investigation it was found that this mysterious fever is nothing but viral fever. After Firozabad, patients are being found in other cities of UP. Later, cases of leptospirosis and scrub typhus with dengue were also found in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
What is leptospirosis fever
Leptospirosis is a bacterial fever that is spread by animals living around us such as rats, squirrels, buffaloes, horses, sheep, goats, pigs and dogs. If left untreated, leptospirosis can also damage the kidneys. In severe cases, the patient may even die. Symptoms of leptospirosis include fever with burning sensation in the urine, abdominal pain, and jaundice. Leptospirosis bacterial fever is treated with antibiotics.
How dangerous is scrub typhus?
Scrub typhus is also a bacterial fever. Lack of cleanliness increases its bacteria. In the absence of initial treatment, 60% of patients die in 14% of days. Where scrub bites mites of typhus, painful black ulcers form. The fever comes. There is no vaccine to treat it.
How is the treatment
Scrub typhus is treated with antibiotics only. The antibiotic doxycycline is usually given for its treatment. Doxycycline can be used for patients of any age. Those who are initially treated with doxycycline usually recover faster.
