Bobcat is a company dedicated to manufacturing heavy agricultural and construction equipment. In recent years, he has tried to innovate, especially with the launch of the first electric truck, which they call the Bobcat T7X. Now they go a step further and drive with full autonomy (both electric) in the working environment you love. For this they released two new models: S7X and Rogue X.
On the occasion of CONEXPO which is being held these days in Las Vegas, Bobcat has shown two new conceptual models that it hopes to bring to the market in the coming years. The first of these was the Bobcat S7X, which is a 100% electric off-road vehicle. Some airlines target the internet.
Bobcat S7X, the first of its class
Just like what happened with the T7X a little over a year ago, the S7X works with the same mechanics as that model. Its 60.5 kWh battery provides the power of four electric motors and about 8 hours of work, while the company claims that this is more in the use that is given to it.
The Bobcat S7X offers the same fully electric mechanics as the Bobcat T7X, which was introduced a little over a year ago.
The S7X is a young skid loader that offers, above all, the classic electric model capabilities: quiet, comfortable, smooth and almost no vibration. To bring this model to life, Bobcat partnered with Moog, a company specializing in the development of motion control components and systems for the aerospace and defense industries.
Like the other model introduced by Bobcat, the S7X is a concept vehicle, albeit with big “as soon as possible” marketing plans, but without any specific dates. The company states that it will continue with its developments and will release further information at a later date.
Bobcat Rogue X, fully electric and autonomous
The second model introduced by Bobcat, the Rogue X, is perhaps their most futuristic model. Its aesthetics are quite obvious, because it completely lacks a cabin (it is completely autonomous) and its action will be carried out by external programming by the person to whom it belongs.
This construction is powered by a caterpillar engine, although according to what they say, it is of its own kind. It is presented as a long-term research and development project, although they are considering the possibility of commercialization soon. The goal is to be able to understand the interests of customers and test the limits of current engineering.
According to the group, more than carrying out tasks that some skilled workers can already do today, Rogue X seeks to carry out tasks in which people are most at risk.
As for its mechanics, the Bobcat does not go into great detail beyond pointing out that it is completely electric, as it uses a lithium-ion battery, an electrical system and a hydraulic system. He also points out that they will provide more information about this later, as the model progresses in its development.
