It became the 14th trophy for Real Madrid in the Champions League as well as the fifth trophy for Gareth Bale despite not playing in the final.

With Real Madrid, Gareth Bale won the Champions League trophy in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022 respectively.

The feat also made Bale the first British player to win five Champions League titles during his career.

Although Bale rarely gets a chance to play this season, he is only a substitute in the match against Liverpool.

Bale has played only seven games this season, with Los Blancos, the Welshman spending most of his time injured.

Even before the duel against Liverpool, he was a doubt to be brought in after suffering back problems, although he was eventually included in the squad.

As if it was a farewell match for Bale and Real Madrid after his contract expired at the end of this season, he made a total of 258 appearances in all competitions.

Contrary to what Bale gave while playing against Liverpool in the 2018-2019 Champions League final match. His two goals at that time became a decisive victory for Real Madrid as well as their 13th Los Blancos Champions League title.

Notably for the achievement of five Champions League titles, Bale also defeated 4 Liverpool giants to clinch trophies in the event. These include Phil Neill (4 trophies), Ray Clemens (3 trophies), Phil Thompson (3 trophies), Terry McDermott (3 trophies).

It will be interesting to see how Bale will fare after splitting from Real Madrid, given his already vulnerable position due to injury.

Bale could spend this season without even playing for Real Madrid, the Premier League could be the Wales captain’s next destination.
