The Philadelphia 76ers were busy this summer. After being eliminated in the Conference Semifinals for the fifth time in the past six seasons, Pennsylvania’s front office is facing one of the biggest upsets in recent history.
The first decision is to dispense with the services of Doc Rivers in the head coach. While they are completing the process of hiring a new coach, the main offices are also starting to focus on planning and preparing the squad that will play in the 2023-24 season.
The main interest shows James Harden, to whom they did not want to give the maximum and who is tempted by Houston. However, other players are also looming in free agency: Danuel House Jr. (player option), Montrezl Harrell (player option), Shake Milton, Jaden McDaniels, Dewayne Dedmon and Georges Niang.
Here he established himself as one of the principal benches of the people during the 76th century. But the dismissal of Rivers left the team’s continuity up in the air. This was confirmed by the player himself in an interview for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Obviously you want to be in a place where you are praised. And I’ve always loved Philadelphia. Otherwise, I don’t know anything else,” said Niang.

Niang spent his last two professional seasons with the 76ers. He previously spent four years at Utah under Quin Snyder. “I played for Tames before, where I felt I wanted to, now they are a completely different team,” Niang continued. “I’m grateful because I feel who I am, what I represent and what I can contribute. But things happen very quickly in free agency. And as someone once said to me: this is almost like a game of chairs. You don’t want to be left without a chair to sit on.”
