Georgia police free an abducted woman who was subjected to abuse and violence at the hands of her captors.
12 On Your Side reports that the victim, who was described as a sex slave by her alleged kidnappers, was found by Richmond County sheriff’s deputies at a residence in the 2200 block of Neely Drive at around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim was inside a dog cage filled with human feces. Officers arrested several people, including one who told police officers that the woman allegedly “stole a lot of stuff.” Therefore, as described by the same person, the woman was to be his “sex slave” and was going to exploit him “until he repaid his debt.”
An incident report obtained by 12 On Your Side states: “Upon entering the room, he saw an unidentified woman with light brown skin who was naked, badly beaten and in the arms of a dog.” Was locked in a cage.”
Shawna Powell, 32, Anjelica Figueroa, 29, DeMichael Dawson, 24, Savannah Piazzi, 18, and Dawson Weston, 19, were arrested in connection with the crime.
He has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a crime.
A former resident of the house where the woman was found was the first to discover her whereabouts. The man had returned to the mobile home to retrieve some personal belongings and the victim asked him for help.
The man contacted the police officers, who then rescued the abducted woman.
Officers claimed that the victim seemed “injured and distraught” and initially refused to contact police. After some time, when the police officer reached the woman, he saw that her eye was swollen and black.
