Get ready! Honda’s electric scooter is coming to India, find out when it will launch

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch its first electric scooter in the Indian market. According to media reports, the company is working with its dealer-partner on this upcoming electric scooter. It is believed that this electric scooter may come in the market within the next financial year.

HMSI President, MD and CEO Atsushi Ogata said in a statement to the media that the company decided to enter the electric vehicle market after detailed discussions with Japan’s parent Honda Motor Company. However, the basic model of this electric scooter has not been finalized yet.

The company believes that the Indian market is very suitable for electric vehicles, as the government’s electric vehicle policy is encouraging people here. Ogata elaborates that while two-wheeler drivers have started using electric vehicles for short journeys in the city, petrol vehicles are still being used for long distances and in rural areas.

In the last one year, the demand for electric vehicles in the Indian market has increased rapidly. Companies like Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors and now Ola Electric have launched their electric scooters in the market.
