Maruti is all set to launch the new Alto on August 18. According to reports, the company has prepared the new Alto on a completely new platform. It will also get a new engine. The next generation Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is built on the same Heartect platform that underpins the Celerio, Maruti WagonR, Maruti S-Presso.

Maruti may launch the new Alto with two petrol engines. It may also include the new K10C 1.0-litre dual-jet unit with a 796cc engine. Let us know that the new K10C 1.0-litre dual-jet unit is available in the recently launched new Maruti Suzuki S Presso. The new Alto’s 796 cc petrol engine will generate 48 hp of power and 69 Nm of torque. At the same time, the new engine can get a power output of 67 bhp and 89 Nm. It will get a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is possible that Maruti will also include an AGS or AMT unit in it. Customers will also get to see the new CNG version of the Alto.

According to the leaked documents of Maruti Alto K10, this hatchback will be launched in STD, LXi, VXi and VXi + variants. All these will also get the (O) variant. Also included in 3 variants with Automatic Gear Shift (AGS).

According to the NCT registration papers, the Alto K10 is bigger than the Alto sold in India. The new Alto K10 measures 3,530 mm in length, 1,490 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height and 2,380 mm in wheelbase. It also weighs 1,150 kg. The 2022 Maruti Alto is expected to be priced between Rs 4.15 lakh – 4.50 lakh ex-showroom.
