‘Ghosts’ star Rose McIver excited to return to Supernatural

LOS ANGELES, October 6 (WNN) — Rose McIver said she is excited that her new series, Evil spirit, which premieres Thursday, will return her to the supernatural realm after her CW series, iZombie, ended in 2019.

MacIver plays zombie iZombie And now playing a woman who can see and speak spirits Evil spirit.

“I think I’ve got my spot,” MacIver said on a recent Television Critics Association Zoom panel.

Evil spirit Is a remake of a British series that started in 2019. In the American version, Sam (McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) renovate a 300-year-old country house they’ve inherited from Sam’s aunt.

Sam falls into a coma after falling down the stairs. When she wakes up, she is able to see the previous residents of the house. MacIver said to have brought back Sam’s brush with death iZombie Memories.

“I’m starting to wonder if I’m ever going to get a regular job that doesn’t at least play a half-dead man,” MacIver said with a smile.

While Sam and Jay are staying in the house and planning renovations, Sam is confronted by nine ghosts of people who have died in different eras. MacIver, 32, says his experience in supernatural programming goes back a long way iZombie

“I grew up in New Zealand being part of all the shows that came up,” MacIver said. “We call ourselves sword and sandals country.”

From ages 7 to 11, McIver guest starred Hercules: The Legendary Journey And Xena: Warrior Princess, which were located in his home country. At 21, McIver was on a regular power rangers rpm, a byproduct of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

“As an actor you get to go into this other world, whatever that may mean,” MacIver said. “The best part of the job is being able to come in and be ready and be something that just isn’t you.”

Feather Evil spirit, McIver said that his spiritual co-stars make the show fun. The half-hour comedy stars Brandon Scott Jones, Asher Grodman, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Roman Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocki, Devan Chandler Long and Hudson Thames as ghosts.

MacIver said the chemistry between characters from different eras lends itself to comedy. Thorfin (Long) was a Viking. Sasappis (Zaragosa) is a Native American from the range.

Old ghosts get confused when referring to modern things like recent ghost movies. Flower (Carrasco) is a 60s hippie. Trevor (Grodman) is the most recently deceased, a Lehman Brothers broker from the 90s.

The variety of characters was another factor that attracted MacIver, saying that he enjoyed watching iZombie Fans dress up as the show’s characters at Comic-Con, and were happy to be on another show with fictional characters.

“Some of the fans are the most dedicated, creative, imaginative people,” MacIver said.

However, as much as MacIver has said that he enjoys exploring fantasy at work, he remains empirical in real life. When asked if she believed in ghosts, MacIver said she was unsure.

“I haven’t seen or experienced anything myself, but there are a lot of people I love and trust,” MacIver said. “I’m definitely open to that.”

Evil spirit Airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
