Grading the Packers: Special teams have a major failure, offense scores low points 13-7 Damage to Chiefs

Mason Crosby missed two field goals, one from 40 yards and the other from 37. How many of those failures were on Crosby is unclear. Lace was out on both attempts after holder Cory Bjorkez held the ball and the security was terrible on the second, which was blocked. Amari Rodgers had a brutal day as a comeback. He bounced off a punt – it hit teammate Malik Taylor and the Chiefs recovered on 10 – and muffed one later in the game but was lucky to recover the loose ball.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur put the bad day of the offense “totally on me,” saying he could have done more to help his young quarterback. Whether that harsh self-criticism is accurate or not, LaFleur had his team in a winning position on the road despite being without a three-time NFL MVP quarterback. The Packers can’t find someone who can fix the particular timing. First year coordinator Maurice Drayton can’t find work and Sunday was the biggest letdown ever.

Jim Polzin: Aaron Rodgers misled us. Now he and the Packers have an unnecessary mid-season mess
