Britain Davis Cup 2022 ruled out, Andy Murray reveals his mistake The British tennis team could not continue its struggle in the 2022 Davis Cup after losing to the Netherlands in a Group D match.
The match against the Netherlands was held on Friday 16 September 2022 at Emirates Arena, Glasgow, Scotland. In that match, Great Britain had to concede defeat by a score of 1-2.
Great Britain took the lead in the first singles by defeating Daniel Evans. Playing against Tallon Grixpur, Evans won 6–4 and 6–4.
But the defeat was followed by a second single in which Cameron Norie was helpless at the hands of Botic van de Zandschulp with scores of 4-6 and 2-6. This forced the fight for dual territory to continue.
This is where Andy Murray, who is partnering with Salisbury, appears. But they couldn’t do much after being defeated by Wesley Koolhof/Mattway Middlekup by scores of 6-7(7), 7-6 (8-6), and 3-6.
As a player going through his 50th Davis Cup this time around, Murray admitted he was very disappointed and sad at the same time. Because at a young age, she is less likely to be able to participate in the future.
“It sucks because these games only get a few points and it wasn’t what we wanted. I’ve been lucky to have played and watched a lot of matches over the years,” Murray said.
