For example, two regional leaders met with American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (US-Indonesian Business Association) President Wayne Forrest to discuss export opportunities from Bulukumba to New York.
Some of the potential export products shipped to New York include salted fish, tuna, and skipjack tuna. The need for fish in New York is so great that the occasion will be followed by Regent Andy Utta.

One of the follow-up to the meeting, added Ulla, as she is familiarly known, was that in March 2023 Bulakumba Regency was asked to attend a trade fair for fishery products in New York.
“We (Bulukumba) will create a space for an exhibition of Bulukumba fish products, which can be marketed in New York,” he explained.
Earlier, Regent Andy Utta, accompanied by Mayor Danny Pomanto, visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York. The two were welcomed by the Indonesian Consul General in New York, USA, Dr. Arifi Simon.
In addition, Andy Ulla said that before returning to Indonesia, Andy Utta would go to Japan for a health checkup, as he had always done before becoming Bulukumba’s regent.
Significantly, permission has been obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs for the regent of Bulukumba to go abroad. Permission is given from 17 to 30 July 2022. Meanwhile, all costs of travel, accommodation and check-ups are covered using personal funds.
