Dr. Daniel Alberto Diaz Martínez, head of the health system, explained that the health campaign runs until February 5, with a scheduled influx of 400,000 pilgrims walking, cycling, horseback and motorized vehicles.
Most of them come from the interior municipalities of Puebla, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, State of Mexico, Morelos, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Mexico City and Guanajuato.
He explained that derived from the above, the GTO Health System designs, coordinates and implements activities that allow the provision of health services and guarantee the safety of visitors and resident personnel of municipalities.
The municipalities through which the pilgrim passes are San Luis de la Paz, Penzamo, San Diego de la Union, Dolores Hidalgo, Comonforte, San Felipe, Apeso el Grande, Celaya, Salamanca and Villagran.
Pilgrimage operations were set up in health units belonging to 8 health courts with instructions to provide medical care to those involved in the pilgrimage.

There are currently 46 municipalities with strategically distributed municipal brigades, made up of medical, paramedical or health promoter and verifier personnel.
