MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Guadalajara reached the final of the Clausura Mexican football tournament after beating America 3-1 as a visitor in a national classic that saw the country’s two most popular clubs face off in the semifinals.
“Chivas” of Guadalajara, which had lost 1-0 in the first leg, reached the final match with a global score of 3-2.
Moments after the end of the game, Argentine Fernando Ortiz resigned as America’s technical director, arguing that his cycle ended at the head of the “Aguilas”.
