Ahmedabad: Buses running under the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) and the Ahmedabad Bus Rapid Transit System have been suspended from Thursday until further orders due to the increasing number of Corona virus cases.
The COVID infection in particular crossed the 1000 mark for the first time in nearly three months in Gujarat on 17 March.
COVID-19 cases continue to increase in many parts of Gujarat. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on March 15 ordered the closure of restaurants, restaurants and malls in eight wards of the city at 10 pm until further orders.
The Gujarat government has imposed night curfew in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot to curb the rise in the COVID-19 epidemic. The curfew will remain in force from 6 am to 31 March on 10 March.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation stated in its order, “Due to the high number of cases in these eight wards it is directed that restaurants, malls, show-rooms, tea stalls, namkeen stores, textile stores, pan parlors, hair salons, spas , Gyms and clubs have to be closed at 10 pm. ”
Taking a restrictive step in the spike in Corona cases, all the gardens and parks in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, including the Kankaria lake and the zoo, have been closed from today until further orders.
“In view of the COVID-19 pandemic from March 18, it has been decided to close all the gardens, Kankaria Lakefront, Zoo etc., till the next order,” AMC said in a release.
According to the latest available data, 2,269 deaths have been recorded in Ahmedabad due to COVID-19. The city has a COVID-19 recovery rate of 95.3 percent, with 58,043 people recovering from the disease.
