GWM has reached the Mexican market and envisions a production plant in the country

Great Wall Motors has its first launch in Mexico, the Haval H6 SUV and promises a strategy that will open 40 agencies in the country by the end of the year. As if that wasn’t enough, the OEM envisions a production plant in Mexico.

Mexico City, September 11, 2023.- Great Wall Motors (GWM) has arrived in Mexico with five brands, Poer, Wey, Tank, Ora and Haval, each focused on a segment of the market. The brand aims to have 40 agencies by the end of 2023 to sell 3,000 units and complete operations throughout Mexico by mid-2024.

Its first launch is an SUV called the Haval H6 that will range in price from 639,900 pesos to 689,900 pesos. This car is part of a strategy of 10 models that will be launched soon in Mexico, where most will have a level of electrification, either in hybrid, fully electric or plug-in hybrid models.

In addition, as if that was not enough, James Yang, president of Great Wall Mexico for the Latin American market, reported that they intend to build a production plant in the country: “We have started to investigate the local production to become a local car brand.”

GWM is a world-renowned Chinese brand listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2003 and on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2021, with a presence in more than 60 countries and with more than 500 sales points in 400 cities, thanks to the support of 59 thousand employees. The OEM wants to invest 13.7 billion dollars in 2025 in the world, as reported by Pedro Albarrán, general director of GWM.
