Harry Kane kept scoring as Bayern Munich survived a scare to beat newly promoted Heidenheim 4-2 and rise to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund suffered their second defeat in a row. Serhou Guirassy scored on his return from injury to lead Stuttgart to a 2-1 win over the Black and Yellows. He increased his season tally to 15 goals in nine league appearances and left Dortmund eight points behind Bayern after just eleven appearances.
The England captain, who had already scored a record 15 goals in his first 10 Bundesliga games, needed just 14 minutes to score his first goal against Heidenheim before adding another before half-time.
Heidenheim responded with two goals in three minutes, surprising the home fans. Tim Kleindienst scored in the 67th minute after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting lost the ball in midfield and Jan-Niklas Beste equalized after a botched pass from Bayern defender Kim Min-jae.
But Raphaël Guerreiro escaped Bayern’s embarrassment two minutes later with his first goal for the Bayern powerhouse (on the rebound after Müller parried Choupo-Moting’s first attempt) and Choupo-Moting secured the win in the 85th minute thanks to one Pass from his substitute teammate Mathys Tel.
With Bayern’s ninth win in eleven games, the team is one point ahead Bayer Leverkusenwho can return to the top on Sunday with a victory over Union Berlin.
Also on Saturday, Darmstadt drew 0-0 against Mainz and Augsburg drew 1-1 against Hoffenheim. The latter had to be briefly suspended in the second half after a spectator was injured by pyrotechnics.
