Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd asked: “Culture Cancel: Sorry and Forget?” Dr. Shola and Leo both have strong opinions on the subject. The argument started off quite quietly, but it didn’t take long for the guests to shout at each other to make their voices heard. As they lined up with each other, Ben and Kate stepped in to end the argument.
Leo began: “I’ve canceled shows, my venue canceled me on the Australian fringe.
“Most of the time I think it’s a misunderstanding on the part of the people who cancel.
“At the same time people are getting canceled for tweets sent 12 years ago and people change, people move on.
“But society also changes. What is acceptable in society changes.

“You see, with people like JK Rowling, a few years ago, she was the darling of the Left and now she’s this fairy.
“People need to understand that if we are canceling people out for what they said 12 years ago because society changes and what people say changes, what people are saying now is unacceptable in 12 years. Is going to be?”
Kate later asked Dr Shola: “Is there an argument to be made that part of growing up and growing up is that your thoughts are informed and they change?
“Something you said in the past, now we have social media where things are written and shared so widely that you can no longer be represented, so if you changed your mind you would have to should be forgiven for keeping it?”
“Let’s consider, why is it so hard for people to accept the consequences of life, it’s really a fact of life, it’s not cancellation.”
The controversy escalated when Leo jumped to the prime minister’s defense, who in 2018 compared burqa-wearing Muslim women to a “letterbox”.
He claimed it was “just a lie”, adding that he thought Muslim women “looked like letterboxes”.
Frightened Dr. Shola’s counterattack: You sit there with audacity and say that it was right to say so. You are part of the problem.”
Leo retorted, “I don’t believe Britain is the pool of hate and racism you’re portraying.”
Dr. Shola and Leo kept arguing with each other and it was almost impossible to understand what they were saying.
Ben and Kate try to step in several times and timed the argument with Kate yelling: “We have to shut this down.”
Ben said: “Unfortunately Dr. Shola and Leo, we are out of time. We have strict pause restrictions at this stage but thank you very much for your thoughts this morning, this is clearly a very emotional topic. “
Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to share their shock at how quickly the debate escalated into a row.
@FlopsyPickle posted: “Why do people have to yell at each other?! Makes me want to throw stuff at the TV. We can’t wait to figure out any point, so just shut up and wait your turn Do it.
“But Ben and Kate just sit back and let them do it, when it’s their job to control an interview #gmb #goodmorningbritain.”
@ThatGeordie1 said: “@GMB you need to completely unaccept your guest booking. First it’s wrong with Quentin Letts and now this Leo man, wtf people. Well done @SholaMos1 Speechless. #GMB.”
Adam Boynton complained: “#gmb too early for everyone to shout. Mute buttons should be introduced so each party can have their say.
Ebony Mitchell asked: “Wait what happened they cut them off #gmb.”
