Premiere at Sundance Film Festival and selected as winner jury award In the 2022 World Documentary Film Competition, “Everything That Breathes” Follows two brothers running an avian hospital dedicated to rescuing injured black kite birds in New Delhi, one of the world’s most populous cities in India.
As environmental pollution and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between the family and the abandoned kites forms a poetic chronicle of the city’s ecological collapse and deepening social failures.
In May, the film became the first film to win Best Documentary at both Sundance and Cannes, Since then, the documentary has taken top season honors, winning Award for Best Documentary at the Gotham Awards.; four IDA Awards including Best Documentary; and two CineMAI Awards including Best Documentary.
