He threw disinfectant at a woman and set her on fire

Juan Carlos Medina was arrested on suspicion of spraying a woman with disinfectant and then setting her on fire, according to police in Marysville, northern California.

The attack occurred last Thursday at a home in the 1200 block of G Street, where 70-year-old Juan Carlos Medina was allegedly arguing with the 59-year-old woman.

Juan Carlos Medina is accused of torture

The suspect faces torture charges over the incident in which he set fire to the woman, whose identity is not known.

According to authorities, Juan Carlos Medina did not allow his victim to seek help for several hours to treat the injuries that caused his burns.It is known that the affected woman suffered severe burns to 10% of her body and is currently being treated in hospital.

Additionally, investigators learned that Juan Carlos Medina had also beaten the same woman the day before she was burned.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Yuba County Jail on $5,000 bail.

In addition to the torture allegation, he is also accused of arson and domestic violence.
