This Monday, a man who went to drop his son off at school found a bone still in a shoe in the town of Valdivia, Los Ríos region.
The current prosecutor of Valdivia, José Luis Vallejos, gave details about the particular discovery that took place this day, according to Meganoticias.
“About 12:00 noon, the Homicide Brigade of the Valdivia Investigative Police informed us of a complaint about the discovery of the remains of a person, which was supposed to be found in the alley of Santiago Bueras and General Lagos,” revealed the fiscal.
In the same line, he added: “The existence and discovery of a shoe proved that the inside contained apparently human bones.”
“Their transfer is coordinated by the Legal Medical Service for subsequent examinations, as well as coordinating the bone identification from the SML in Santiago, subsequent procedures that will help establish the origin of these bones, ” explained Vallejos.
“Finding is an accident”
Regarding the circumstances in which the remains were found, the prosecutor indicated that “the discovery was accidental, a man who went to drop off his son at a nearby educational establishment went to the river bank, in a alley where there is ongoing construction. , and he noticed that this shoe was somewhere that caught his attention.”
“He also realized that there were remains inside, and as a result, unusually, he called the Investigative Police to report the same,” he added.
Finally, the prosecutor indicated, regarding the procedures to be carried out, that “we need to cross-reference our internal information about the said disasters that we have.”
“In the same way, the PDI can cross-reference other information about people who may disappear from the commune or the region (…) also to a series of tests that can be carried out on a biological basis to determine the identity of these remains or to whom they belong and subsequent coordination for the final search for the bodies if that is the case,” concluded prosecutor Vallejos.
