Health confirms new case of monkeypox in SLP

The Secretary of Health of San Luis Potosí, Daniel Acosta Diaz de Leon, reported that the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) confirmed to the State Epidemiology Subdirectorate a positive case of monkeypox in a patient of that institution, with which they add 10 cases . Total in the state.

At the cut-off date of December 28, that person’s sample was rejected and IMSS was requested to retake it, so after doing so and sending it to the lab at the Hospital de la Raza in Mexico City, Social Security received a call this December 6. Acosta Diaz de León announced that a total of 28 samples have been taken from the same number of people, with ten positive results and 16 negative and two awaiting results; It is important to be aware of symptoms such as a rash or skin lesions on the face, palms and soles of the feet, fever, muscle aches, headache and back pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills and tiredness. spread of disease

More than three thousand cases have been registered in the country, most of which are located in Mexico City.
