The Department of Health of the Aragonese government expresses through a statement that the care pressure of the continuous care service of the Utrilas Regional Health Center “can be assumed by a doctor.”
The DGA thus responds to the complaint of the Utrilas City Council, which this week denounced that, due to the loss of health professionals at the health center, the medical guard services are being covered by only one doctor and two nurses, “when necessary.” There were usually two physicians so that one of them could travel in case of home notice”.
The health department clarifies that it has compared the demand for the Cuencas Mineras outpatient clinic with that of the largest health centers and that all of them, except Calamocha, have only one doctor and one nurse keeper in an area of similar population.
The statement explains that situations when the sole doctor has to leave the health center due to an emergency are resolved by placing an informational sign at the entrance indicating that the doctor is paying attention to a notice. The note indicates that in some cases it was decided to have a second nurse on site as a health professional, “to sort out the first care if necessary, as they have full capacity for this.”
DGA confirms Utrilas medical staff with six professionals is covered, however four Continuing Care Physicians (MACs) are missing. He points out that, with few exceptions, doctors are only on duty during the week and always within the norm.
