The objectives of this inter-institutional coordination mechanism are to improve the supply and distribution of medicines and to achieve an administrative structure that allows reducing patient care times.
Representatives of the Armed Forces Social Security Institute (ISSFA), Council of Civil Participation and Social Control (CPCCS), Roberto Gilbert Elizalde Hospital (HRGE), Guayaquil Charity Board (JBG) participated in the said working table. ), the Guayaquil Cancer Society (SOLCA), the Office of the Ombudsman, the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), the Provincial Coordination of Guayas and the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (APNACC).
The participants promised to hold monthly meetings in case registration and follow-up of rare and devastating diseases at the national level, besides working in coordination, to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from them.
“Meetings like these reaffirm the commitment of the national government and its health authorities to improve the quality of health services. I can confirm that they are already doing this, as I have lived with kidney disease. I am the mother of a patient and there has been a marked improvement in care”, said Evelyn E., representative of parents of children with chronic renal failure.
The Ministry of Health works hard to strengthen the health services nationwide.
