Henry Shimabukuro, the wanted businessman accused of the “Shadow Cabinet” case, reiterated that he contributed to the Peru Libre campaign for the second time around the 2021 general elections and emphasized that the president Dina Boluarte did not contribute any expenses. He also handed over a series of testimonies to the Prosecutor’s Office to support his relationship with the current president.
“I’m just going to make it clear. In the first conversation that Mrs. Dina Boluarte makes, they ask her about me if she knows me or has any relationship with me, and she says that she doesn’t know that she’s never seen me. So if you’ve never seen me and you don’t know me, Who did you get in the car? I have pictures where he was in my car with his guardian, then with his brother. I transported him several times in my vehicle,” Shimabukuro in statements to the RPP.
Shimabukuro stated that Dina Boluarte was not his friend, he also indicated that a person close to Boluarte was the one who brought him to the election campaign. “He is not my friend. I just met him in the second round of the campaign. An energetic person who is a friend of Mrs. Dina Boluarte receives me, introduces her to me and asks me to help her. That is where the closeness was born because I am from 8:00 to 10:00 pm was next to her with the whole military team (…). I confirmed her in everything. Don’t spend anything. not even to Martian. I have all the expenses covered,” he said.
Shimabukuro mentioned that, although he did not give money directly to Dina Boluarte, contributions were made through intermediaries, including former councilor Maritza Sánchez and Víctor Torres.
Not in his hands (I gave him something), not directly. Coordination was made with Mrs. Martiza Sánchez, Víctor Torres. I have WhatsApp thanks for the purchase of the tickets, for the expenses. I can present the evidence before five days,” he asserted.
The businessman also claimed that he had handed over a series of evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office to verify his version. Shimabukuro, according to his version, delivered the following;
- Passwords
- Videos
- Photographs
- Audios
- Vouchers
“Everything (above). I asked Interbank about my expenses. I think today or tomorrow everything will be present to us,” Shimabukuro specified on this matter.
“He asked me that I want to win once. And I told him nothing that it was a personal matter. Whether it is Dina Boluarte, Peru Libre, whoever it is, or the other party or another person in the second round, between the Fuerza Popular with Keiko Fujimori and them, the other party will take over I was,” he added.
Finally, Shimabukuro explained that the money used came directly from his account, from the income of the employer: “My money is monetary. I am an entrepreneur, I have done private services, private works. I received my money. Sometimes I paid in cash, sometimes I paid with my account.
