Japanese carmaker Toyota has launched another new MPV Rumion. This new MPV is the result of a partnership between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, which is based on the Maruti Ertiga. The company has launched this car in the South African market. This is Toyota’s third model based on the Maruti Suzuki car.
Earlier, the company also launched Glanza and Urban Cruiser based on other models of Maruti Suzuki. Which is the new rebadged version of Baleno and Vitara Brezza respectively. As far as the Indian market is concerned, Toyota is soon going to launch its new car Belta based on Maruti Suzuki Siaz.
The Toyota Rumion looks a lot like the Maruti Ertiga sold in India. However, the front grille has been slightly modified and the front has been given a Toyota badge. Its headlamps, bumper design, telescoping are like Ertigar. Even the design of this MPV’s alloy wheel is similar to that of the Maruti Ertiga.
Other than that, the interior of the Rumian is similar to the current Maruti Ertigar. The steering wheel inside the car only has a Toyota badge which makes it a little different. This MPV has automatic air conditioning, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution with automatic touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking sensor, Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity.
In this MPV the company has given a 1.5 liter capacity petrol engine that produces 103 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission gearbox. Except for the Toyota Badge, this car is similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertigar.
