High School: CBA Football beats Schenectady, posts fourth shutout

Jaylen Riggins scored three touchdowns on two receptions and a fumble recovery, and Christian Brothers Academy recorded its fourth shutout in five games this season, registering a 53–0 Class AA football win over Schenectady on Saturday at Larry Mulvaney Field .

The CBA (3–0 Class AA, 5–0 overall) have beaten their opponents 221–6 this season, with Bethlehem being the only team to score this season against the Brothers, who were teammates unbeaten on Friday. Shaker confronts.

“Defensively, we’re pretty good,” said CBA coach Bobby Burns. “I’ve had some good defenses in the past, and that’s great. Our front seven is good. . . . It’s not like we’re trying to shut everyone or anything, we’re just playing.

Schenectady were 0–3 on aggregate and fell to Class AA play.

“We had a good week of practice, but it’s great [CBA] Soccer team over there,” said Schenectady coach Carm DePaolo. “You can’t shoot yourself in the foot. We had a drive going on and we stumbled, we probably had five or six bad snaps today. Us Will have to regroup and come out to play next week.”

In Class A, Burnt Hills-Bolston Lake scored in the first play from scrimmage and never looked back in defeating Queensbury 42–21.

Tyler Manning completed a pass for a 55-yard touchdown to Kevin Carney, and Jaleel Joseph scored on a 45-yard run as Burn Hills took a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.

Joseph ran for 4 yards in the second quarter for a 21-0 halftime lead.

Queensbury eventually climbed the scoreboard on Trayvon Bailey’s 52-yard run in the third quarter with 3:19, but Burn Hills immediately followed through with an 18-yard pass from Manning to Carney to lead 28-6 through three quarters. replied with

Manning finished the game 8-for-10 for 136 yards and two scores.

Giovanni DiCaprio scored a 15-yard run with 1:51 in the game to give Fonda-Fultonville a 21-14 win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in a non-classification game.

Jackson Cusack caught six passes for 96 yards for Fonda, including a 21-yard pass from Conor Weaver to give Fonda a 14-6 lead in the third quarter.

Anderson Lifts Galway

WAC Vs. Wasseren Challenge, Colin Anderson scored in the second half to give Galway a 1-0 win over Saratoga Catholics.

Jacob Frank broke the 2-2 tie with 25 minutes to give Northville a 3-2 win at Waterford-Halfmoon.

At halftime, Northville took a 2-0 lead with goals from Wyatt Sira and Colin Morehouse.

Britain’s Goodemot scored two goals to help Mayfield beat Greenwich 4–0.

Katie Krohn scored four goals and assisted on second as Shohri beat Little Falls 5–2 in a non-league girls’ football game.

Haley Drinen had the second goal for Shohri and assisted on one.

In the suburban council, Maddie Mills made three saves, and Anna Joyce scored six as Niscauna tied the Colony 0–0. Hailey Blake blocks six shots for the colony.

Win at Saratoga, AP Guilderland

The Saratoga Springs Girls and Avril Park Boys cross country teams won their respective divisions in the big school competition at the Guilderland Invitational.

The Blue Streaks took the top seven, led by Emily Bush (16:34.77) and Ella Kurto (17:07.74).

Guilderland also went 1–2 in the boys’ big school race, with Finn Burke (15:28.75) and Will Cusato (15:46.72) as the top two runners, but Avril Park found five runners across the line and narrow. Outscored by Dutchman 35-31.

Burn Hills-Bolston Lakes senior Carly Rzczotarski broke the all-time career school record for Kiel during the ASICS Challenge tournament in Chicago on Friday.

Sarah Morton held the record with 1,349, and Burn Hills beat Carrie Grove (ill), 26–24, 21–25, 25–22, and Sandberg (ill), 25–15, 25 to Rzzotarski standing at 1,359. Was. -22, to advance to the gold bracket. The Spartans lost three matches on Saturday and finished seventh out of 24 teams.
