Honduras’ next games and what it needs to advance to the next round of the Nations League

The national team will punch their ticket to the quarterfinals of the Nations League in October.

The Honduran National Team managed to get out of the first window of the Concacaf Nations League alive and depends on itself to qualify for the next round.

After two games played, the team led by Reinaldo Rueda is third in Group B with three points, surpassed by Jamaica and Cuba, both with four points and +1 in goal difference.

La Bicolor lost 1-0 against Reggae Boyz and then defeated Granada 4-0, giving themselves confidence to face the double FIFA Date in October that will define the classifications for the quarterfinals, namely two best in Group A and b.

Honduras will play its last two group stage games against Cuba, a team that recently drew 0-0 with Haiti and beat Suriname 1-0.

The first game between Catrachos and Cubans will be played at the Antonio Maceo Stadium in the city of Santiago. The date of the game is set for Thursday, October 12, with a time defined; Same case for the return game.

The rematch is three days later. The National Stadium in Tegucigalpa will host their second game in the new process of Reinaldo Rueda. The final match will be played on Sunday the 15th.


In the quarterfinals of the Nations League are the final winners of the Concacaf World Cup. If Honduras finishes at the top of their bracket, they will face Costa Rica or Canada, but if they finish second, they will face Mexico or the United States.

These matches will be played round-trip in early November. The winners of each key qualify directly for the Copa América, while the losers compete in a repechage in March to determine the last two Concacaf tickets to the Conmebol competition.
