According to an ESPN report, the Charlotte Hornets are hopeful that Miles Bridges will be part of the roster next season. Charlotte management want to continue relying on the player despite being sentenced to three years’ probation in May 2022 for assaulting his former teammate.
As a result, the NBA suspended Bridges with 30 games, a punishment that was eventually reduced to ten games considering he did not play a single game this year as part of the punishment. These ten meetings will be completed in the next season by the time he signs a new contract with a team.
Prior to the domestic violence allegations, Bridges was heading into restricted free agency, in which he had hoped to sign a good long-term contract. The forward finished the 2021-22 campaign averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
The Hornets will have the second pick in the 2023 draft after finishing the 2022-23 season with a disappointing 27-55 record. University of Alabama player, Brandon Miller, is currently considered the favorite to be selected with the aforementioned pick, which would give Charlotte two promising future prospects in addition to LaMelo Ball.

Bridges remains a free agent and may ultimately decide that a change of scenery is in the best interests of her career. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers were among the teams that monitored Bridges’ position last season, and the number of interested teams is likely to increase as the legal matter is resolved and the NBA For part of the punishment has already come into force.
