For example, Tom Santora, managing director of Hotel Vin, believes Working From Hotel (WFH) is here to stay.

Santora predicts that hotels will continue to offer packages including free Wi-Fi and conference room access to meet the needs of business travelers. She also believes that families and couples will take advantage of business travel opportunities and turn them into vacations that everyone can enjoy.

Another trend Santora sees is that the hotel has become a destination for many guests. In the past years, many used to see hotels only as a place to sleep at night while on vacation, but believe that there will be a trend of trendy properties with experiential packages for travelers. For example, Hotel Vin offers tastings at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Bacchus Kitchen + Bar, as well as special classes and events with wineries and distilleries in the area.

Philip Bates, CEO and co-founder of TMC Hospitality, also sees a growing demand for local experiences.

“The pandemic has taught us to appreciate the little things better, which will lead people to look for ways to get to know and experience the cities they are traveling to,” Bates said. “Any local-only type of offering will have appeal. For example, in our new Drift San Jose del Cabo, we’re offering a mezcal bar developed in partnership with Mezcal Xiliado and a local taco truck with live music in the courtyard. are.”

He also sees the ongoing development of the “blazer” travel trend that combines business and leisure on one trip.

People are expecting to get out more and will increasingly mix work trips with leisure trips,” Bates said. “All taking extra time to see friends and family, explore cities, and work remotely is all.” Will play a big role in the demand for ‘Blizar’. Hotels that offer extended stay rates, spaces and co-working areas will benefit from this trend.”

Lior Seckler, vice president of revenue management at HRI Hospitality, focused on how travelers are spending.

Seckler said, “The increase in expendable spending within the younger generation is fueling interest in discovery and travel, as they seek unique experiences, interesting new destinations, and ‘Instagrammable’ content to share on social media.” ” “Research shows that social media content has increased bookings by influencers by more than 20 percent.”

Generally travelers are spending more.

“In 2021, the US experienced the strongest consumer spending growth in 70 years, a total increase of 8 percent,” Seckler said. “This spending net is expected to continue into 2022, as consumer wealth is at record levels and they are eager and ready to spend the money.”

Dana Pelicano, Vice President of Global Operations, Food and Beverage at Marriott International, explained that some aspects of the visitor experience added during the pandemic remain popular.

“The pandemic provided an opportunity to do room-service again: Over the past year, room service revenue has exceeded budget and overtook restaurants and lounges as the top revenue-generating outlets,” Pelicano said. “At Marriott International, we reintroduced room service five years ago. The pandemic accelerated this adoption, and dozens more hotels moved to this new room service format last year, offering prices that match the expectations of today’s customers. On the box and offer well-travelled food.”

Pelicano also noted that mobile dining remains popular, along with the use of QR codes for easy access to menus and ordering.

RTD or “ready-to-drink” drinks are also here to stay. These beverages offer a hermetically sealed solution to ready-made cocktails, often by a familiar endorsed brand, the famous Pelicano, who pointed to another draw – these drinks often justify a great bar experience. Come with high quality material to replicate.
