The way we are informed or learn is no different thanks to these changes. Since the advent of the Internet and search engines, The way of searching and processing information began to change. why This was enhanced with the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in these engines. For example, AI-based recommendation systems are helping users find content that interests them.
Added to this was the presence of AI content generator tools in audio, image or text format where users can consume and produce information in a more personalized, interactive and friendly way, bringing to the table an age-old debate about how educational systems should optimize Does Change generated by technology.
The traditional educational system has focused on memorizing information, an activity that used to take a lot of time and was not very easy to find information, but with tools like chatbots, where answers to complex questions can be found quickly and easily . Remembering doesn’t matter anymore. Not only that, for example, during January 2023, New York schools prohibited the use of ChatGPT because “students could cheat on assignments or assessments.”
Another challenge that this new paradigm brings is data literacy. Nowadays we are constantly exposed to artificial intelligence engines, but very rarely do we really understand how they work or just what we are using. Data literacy enables people to make informed decisions and use data ethically and responsibly. In this context, it is important to know how it works in order to understand whether the answer is correct, if it introduces bias or if it is not answering what we ask about.
All these issues present opportunities for people in decision-making positions in organizations. For this reason, it is essential to have leaders with a high capacity for adaptation, where reflecting, rethinking and reading are becoming more common. Companies must have leaders capable of inspiring and promoting learning; Education that is specific and relevant to established objectives and that guides individuals on the path of their professional development.
The use of these tools in education allows for the creation of more interactive, immersive and personalized offerings so that everyone can truly acquire knowledge and create new knowledge. Furthermore, they allow you to really focus on the purpose and purpose of continuing to seek innovative solutions to humanity’s various challenges.
Adoption of AI-based tools is just a matter of time And there is only one question: how to use them to enhance people’s learning experience and the development of their skills?
Globant’s Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion sector is dedicated to developing technology for learning. Our focus is on enhancing the knowledge that already exists in the company and community, based on the use of exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence.
During 2022, we developed an AI search and recommendation engine to personalize the Globber experience on our own Learning Magel campus. We found that Globbers consider face-to-face meetings to be one of the most effective learning formats and that 50% of them do not know company experts on topics that interest them. From this – “Insights” –, we developed another AI function to drive one-on-one learning experiences.
We also found that 87% of Globbers are willing to spend more than an hour a week in face-to-face meetings to learn and teach.
This knowledge of Globbers’ learning needs and expectations, combined with technology, gave birth to a new tool: Learning Match, an artificial intelligence engine that draws on users’ historical data to determine what they want to teach and learn , -recommends “match”. “- to facilitate one-on-one meetings with others in the company and foster a learning community.
These are just a few examples of how we can use technology to enhance learning experiences, foster creativity, and restart industry and humanity.
