Davison said his family was planning a vacation trip, with hikes, tours and other excursions planned. His family still travels, but Vegas is not as picturesque as Maui.
The team also has plans to unite. Instead of lying on the beach and cruising around the island, the team throws some lunch together – freshman Lorne Bowman said they had a special dinner planned for Saturday. They might even go to a show the other day.
There is also time to spend with family as family members of several players travel to the tournament.
Val said Vegas is still a great place to visit, but this is not his first visit. Wall and Crowl both competed in AAU tournaments.
“I was really looking forward to going to Maui because I’ve never played basketball,” Val said. “I’ve been to Las Vegas four times, so I’ve been looking for something new, but Vegas is still fun.”
Bowman had never been to Vegas and always smiled when he talked about his excitement about the event. This is his first trip with the Badgers and he is looking forward to playing in tent teams.
“This should be a good test for us,” Bowman said. “I don’t want to belittle anyone, but now the competition is really starting to grow. We’re just trying to go out and win it all. “
