From September 15, 2023, it will be possible to check whether a student in the family group is a beneficiary by clicking on “Check Benefit” and providing only the RUT and date of birth.

The benefit is granted to students whose families belong to the most vulnerable 30% of the Chilean population and is divided into two sections:

  • $75,690 for students in the top 15% of their class.
  • $45,416 for students performing in the second 15% of their class.

For example, if a family has two students in the first stage and one in the second stage, the bonus is $196,496, to which is added $700 as an electronic payment (bank deposit) subsidy.

The bonus is compatible with other government transfers and subsidies, so the payment could be pooled with other transfers within the family group.

To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Your family group must be a beneficiary of the Security and Opportunity subsystem of the Ethical Family Income.
  • You must be in the most vulnerable 30% of the population according to the social budget register as of March 31 of the year immediately preceding the year of the bonus payment. If the household table shows that they are in the 40%, that does not necessarily mean that they are in the most vulnerable 30%.
  • You must study between 5th and 4th grade in the immediately preceding year.
  • They must be among the top 30% of academic performers in their doctoral or graduation group in the previous year.
  • You must have attended primary or secondary education institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education (Mineduc).
