NEW YORK — Thanksgiving is just around the corner and New York City has several programs to provide food for New Yorkers who don’t have the resources to buy dinner.

The organization has partnered with over thirty programs throughout New York City to ensure New Yorkers don’t go hungry on Thanksgiving.
bell holiday food and more Launched in 2018 to connect New Yorkers facing food insecurity during the holidays with food assistance programs that provide special food delivery. This year the campaign has expanded to include toy and clothing gifts and community events.
“Our campaign holiday food and more Not only does it connect New Yorkers in need of critical food assistance, but it also provides New Yorkers with an opportunity to build community and meet others they can spend time with during the holidays,” said Rue Parkin, helpNYC The executive director said. “When I was homeless on the street, I didn’t have any family or friends to spend time with. Community kitchens and holiday events give the underprivileged a chance to connect with their community. The campaign is an annual effort by HelpNYC’s unique program. The program connects people to low-cost services in their communities. Started in 2018 as a direct response to a lack of reliable and timely information about public health and social service programs, it has connected more than 43,000 New Yorkers to the programs they deserve.

Event organizers are encouraged to list their events with helpNYC for free by visiting helpNYC.link/holidaylistings.
The listing will be available till November 24. Food distribution and events will be added to the website daily as events are registered with helpNYC.
