How to increase weapon level in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Players in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes can gain access to some seriously strong weapons (even some veterans). However units will not be able to use them without the correct weapon level.

Every Fire Emblem game has tiered weapons, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is no different. If players focus too much on the level of their weapons, they can quickly acquire silver weapons and even stronger equipment.

How can units in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes use stronger weapons?

Each weapon level in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is determined by the material they are made of. The trainer arms are the lowest level (E). Here’s how the weapon levels are listed:

  • E: Training Weapons and Iron Weapons
  • D: steel arms
  • C: Assassin Weapon
  • B: silver weapons
  • A: Brave Weapon

To use these weapons, each unit needs to have the respective weapon rank. For example, Dmitry cannot use a Brave Lance until he reaches the rank of A Lance.

Weapon ranks are also completely tied to classes in the game. Earning a class will give that unit a certain rank. The base classes all give D rank in their weapons, for example, being a mirmidon gives D rank swords.

So this is how to unlock higher weapon ranks:

  • Raise a unit’s class to a higher benchmark

The way classes work in this game is that there are certain prerequisites to be met before entering that final class. Each character starts with a base class, and they can eventually progress to intermediate, advanced, and master classes.

For example, a player has Hilda and wants to become Wyvern Lord. Hilda has already started out as a fighter, which is perfect as it already uses axes. Hilda would like to progress to Brigand’s intermediate class to improve her ax rank.

After that, she can become a Wyvern Rider, an advanced class that gives her the ability to fly. From there, he would be set to receive the Master Class of Wyvern Lord.

Given this path, Hilda will have access to the Killer Axis as a brigadier. After that, she could use the Silver Axis as the Wyvern Rider and the Brave Axis as the Wyvern Lord.

The game also features legendary weapons, but players don’t have to worry about weapon rank. Every legendary weapon in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is at rank E, and any unit can use them. The only caveat is that if they don’t have the crest, they will take 10 points of damage after using the legendary weapon.

Some classes can even use two types of weapons at the same time. For example, the Dark Knights can use lances, but also have the power to use magic.

Characters upgrade classes through the use of seals. Players will find some seals throughout the gameplay, but they can also be purchased at the shop.
