OpenAI recently released its latest model of GPT-4, which is far more powerful than any company behind it, OpenAI or others, has released so far. It is the largest system modeling language developed by this company and also includes multimodal functions for receiving images as input.
In addition to this, it does well in accounting tests and supports about 26 different languages. That being said, GPT-4 is not available for free to users.
The only access method is with a ChatGPT Plus subscription, which gives subscribers access to the model at a price of $20 per month. However, even through this subscription, the user will be limited, which means that you cannot access it as often as you want, something to consider before making an investment.
Of course, there is a free way to access the GPT-4 text capability and that is by using Bing Chat. On the day that OpenAI introduced GPT-4, Microsoft shared that its chatbot had been running on a slightly lighter version of GPT-4 since its release. It is free to use, but requires registration through a waiting list.
Despite all this, I tell you, this model can really be accessed in its entirety and for free and through Nat.dev.
Use the free GPT-4 from Nat.dev
Nat Friedman, the former CEO of GitHub, has developed an amazing tool to compare the various LLM models offered by AI companies around the world.
You can use it to compare with other GPT-4 models or to test the model alone. As mentioned, it limits you to 10 queries per day, which is reasonable. So, to use GPT-4 for free, here are the steps to follow.
1. Go to nat.dev in your browser and register for free. You can also sign in with any of your Google accounts.
2. After logging in, change the model to “GPT-4” in the right pane. You can tweak other settings as well, but initially keep everything at default. Now all GPT-IV requests are set free and will respond immediately when there is no queue.
Of course, and as you can see, there are many examples of artificial language according to the big separate intelligence companies, why not go through them all.
Note that Friedman Nat Friedman has to pay for the GPT-4 API in exchange for the huge amount of traffic that leads to his Discord channel, but it’s free for you. Access here is unlimited and you can even run another AI chatbot on the same board. But there is not much certainty for how long, if the control panel will be limited in the future.
