Huawei and Chery’s electric Luxeed S9 are sought after in China

If the Luxeed S7 seems like an excellent car, the Luxeed S9 promises to overcome it. The brand, owned by Huawei and Chery, is currently testing the S9 electric fastback on the roads of China, and as usual in these cases, it was searched while conducting these tests.

Even with enough camouflage, that intends to be another rival to the Tesla Model Y for the Chinese market, promises to fulfill the aesthetics found in the concepts, although it remains to be discovered without camouflage. The sought-after unit has LiDAR on the roof, red brake calipers and a sliding roof. Inside, it has a large floating screen, LCD instrument panel and Face ID sensor on the B-pillar.

The association between these companies brings together the knowledge of Chery Auto by offering your E0X electric platform and its production experience, while Huawei acts as a supplier of spare parts. Marketing of Luxeed vehicles is done through Huawei stores in Chinaalthough Chery recently applied for the Russian brand to handle global sales.

The S9 is offered with two engine variants, manufactured by Huawei: rear motor (215 kW) and dual motor (215 kW + 150 kW), and three battery options: LFP of 62 kWh, M3P (NMC + LFP) of 82 kWh and NMC of 100 kWh. The car has a wheelbase of 2.95 meters.

The Luxeed S9 will be the second car in the brand’s range, after the Luxeed S7. It is expected to arrive in the Chinese market in second quarter of next year 2024. Without a doubt, the evolution of this brand in just one year is amazing.
