Hyundai Motor India Limited today announced the launch of its all-electric Ioniq 5 SUV in India this year. The company said that Ioniq 5 will be the beginning of Hyundai’s battery electric vehicle plan in India. Ioniq 5 will be launched in 202 H2. The Ioniq 5 is built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), developed exclusively for battery electric vehicles, and will usher in a new era of clean mobility for Hyundai.
This electric SUV offers a power of 301bhp and a range of up to 481 km. Hyundai’s electric SUV had its global debut in February 2021. Looking at this SUV, it can be said that this SUV is coming with quite advanced and futuristic design. The rear look of the SUV looks quite bold and aggressive due to the hidden LED taillights. The company is offering a clamshell hood for the first time in this SUV for the best aerodynamics, which reduces the gaps between the panels. Also the V-shape given on the front bumper makes the look of DRL SUV more premium.
High-tech interior and 20-inch alloy
Speaking of sides, the company is offering auto flush fitting door handles in this electric SUV. At the same time, the character lines given here also look extremely brilliant. The wheels found in SUVs are 20 inches. These wheels come with special parametric pixel design technology. Hyundai has also made the cabin of this car quite premium. It has features like Universal Island. With the help of this feature the center console can be slid backwards up to 140mm. Also electronically adjustable front seats are provided in this electric SUV.
Top speed 185kmph and range 481 km
In Ionic 5, the company has developed an electric-global modular platform. This SUV will come with two battery pack options – 58kWh and 72kWh. In addition, it will have two electric motor layouts – rear motor only and the option of another rear and front motor. The rear motor variant of the SUV is also equipped with an electric all-wheel drive system. Its combined power is 301bhp and torque is 605Nm. The SUV has a top speed of 185kmph and a range of 481 km.
