Hyundai Creta upgrade you should save your money for!

The Creta has a very special role to play in Hyundai becoming the second largest automaker in the country. The Creta’s launch in 2015 created quite a stir in the market, thanks to its good looks and SUV stance, backed by Hyundai reliability. Hyundai relied on the success of the first generation Creta until 2020 before giving it a generation upgrade. Although many were skeptical of the design when the second generation arrived, this design grew overtime from buyers. How do we know this? Take a look at the sales figures and you’ll notice that buyers have embraced this design. The second generation Creta has only fueled the success of this nameplate. Hyundai knows this and has already brought a few updates to this SUV over the course of two years. However, there is one very special upgrade this car is expected to receive in the future that you should save your money for. We are talking about the Creta N Line update for India. What will this update bring? Everything in this article.

What is this update?

After months of testing and speculation, Hyundai has finally unveiled this SUV in Brazil. Interestingly, the N Line updates have been given to the one available in India and not the renewed one. The facelift model is now available in Indonesia while we wait for it. This scenario suggests that the current India-spec Creta could receive this update, which could be soon. Now with this update the Creta will look even more aggressive as you can clearly see from the pictures. What will all offer? Read on to find out.

Creta N Line India Specific Changes

As for the changes, the Creta N Line will come with an aggressive new mesh grille with N Line badging and new alloy wheels. As for the Brazil-spec SUV, we expect it to come with new bumpers and slightly modified taillights. We could see N Line-specific interior details on the steering wheel, gear stick, and seats. We could also see red ambient lighting inside the cabin to highlight the sporty features.

Since this will only be an ‘N Line’ update and not the performance-focused ‘N’ update (which we don’t get in the country anyway), no major mechanical changes are expected. The Creta N Line will be powered primarily by the same 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating 138bhp and 242Nm of torque, similar to the regular variants. Interestingly, the Brazil-spec Creta N Line comes powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Could Hyundai push the 2.0-litre unit into the India-spec Creta N Line? Highly unlikely. Two things to look forward to, though, are suspension readjustment (for sportier driving dynamics) and a better-sounding exhaust note. One more thing to ponder is the availability of the N Line diesel variants. Do you think Hyundai would or would they decide to skip it due to the availability of Knight diesel variants? Let us know in the comments.

As far as the release is concerned, we need to first note the Crete facelift release timeline. Crete’s facelift is expected to touch Indian shores sometime next year. This means that we could see the launch of Creta N Line, sometime later this year. What about the price? We expect the Creta N line to start from around Rs 20 lakh (road, Mumbai).
